Maxine came to Susan’s Place after having struggles at home. She says Susan’s Place has helped her by teaching her patience. “I was used to going from 0 to 1,000 and end up fighting someone. Now I am here, learning to have patience and cope with the here and now,” she said.  This is me–very unique. She believes beauty is knowing yourself well enough to deal with your insecurities and uncertainties. “We all have insecurities and beauty is learning how to cope with it.” Remaining confident and having faith is a code that she lives by. Lisa Price to be Honored at 6th Annual HEB Fashion Show The date is set for the 6th Annual Health Empowered Beauty Fashion Show. So, be sure to mark your calendars for  Thursday, September 20, 2018 .  This year’s show will be at a new venue, The Prince George Ballroom in midtown Manhattan. For the past four years, Carol’s Daughter has been a proud supporter of the Health Empowered Beauty Fashion Show and has been a valuable part of the show’s continued growth and success. As a special thank you, we will be recognizing Lisa Price by presenting her with the first Empowering Women Award. It is a timely recognition as we will also be acknowledging the 10 th  anniversary of the opening of Susan’s Place, the 200-bed transitional residence for women experiencing homelessness managed by CFH.
